UTANG Airman selected for historic return of Air Force warrant officer program

Senior Master Sgt. Austin Walje, a cyber operations specialist with the 130th Engineering Installation Squadron, was recently selected to join one of the first warrant officer classes in the Air Force since the rank was phased out in the 1950s. The program, announced in late 2023, is part of a broader modernization effort to sharpen the service's cyber and information technology capabilities.
