Utah Air National Guard redesignates two squadrons for cyberspace operations

The Utah Air National Guard redesignated the 106th and 109th Air Control Squadrons as the 106th and 109th Cyberspace Operations Squadrons during a ceremony July 28, marking the formal transition of both units to a new mission in the cyber domain. The redesignation represents a significant change in mission, personnel structure, training and equipment for the two squadrons. Once responsible for air battle management and tactical air control, the units will now organize, train and equip Airmen to support Air Force and joint cyberspace operations.
