TAG hosts retirement BBQ for Utah NG Published Sept. 30, 2012 By Senior Airman Lillian Harnden 151 ARW/PA CAMP WILLIAMS, Utah -- The Adjutant General of Utah, Maj. Gen. Brian L. Tarbet, hosted an informal barbeque for all Utah Army and Air National Guard members at Camp Williams on September 28. The barbeque fell between Tarbet's retirement ceremony on September 27, and his change of command ceremony on September 29. Guardsmen attending the barbeque commented on both the event and Tarbet. "The barbeque was fantastic," said Senior Airman Tammy Annis, 151st Logistics Readiness Squadron. "General Tarbet deserves this, deserves to be recognized. He is a good leader, the opposite of a micromanager, but he knows his business. He knows his people." Throughout the course of the event Tarbet walked the grounds, greeting Guardsmen, shaking hands and conversing with them in an individualized manner. "I would expect nothing less from General Tarbet," said Staff Sgt. Joe Davis, 151st Air Refueling Wing. "Charismatic leaders like Tarbet are the kind of people who make you feel special. Even out of uniform the General remembers your name." Tarbet served 12 years as the TAG for the Utah NG and 39 years total in his military career.
