CHIEF MASTER SGT. CORY ROACH

 

Chief Master Sergeant Cory S. Roach is the 14th Utah State Command Chief Master Sergeant and is assigned to Headquarters, Utah Air National Guard, Roland R. Wright Air Base, Salt Lake City, Utah. He serves as the principal advisor to the Assistant Adjutant General for Air, Utah Air National Guard on all issues regarding the welfare, readiness, morale, and proper utilization and progress of the Utah Air National Guard’s 1,250 enlisted members. He represents the highest level of enlisted leadership for the Utah Air National Guard and represents the enlisted force and their interests at the state and national level.

Chief Roach enlisted in the Utah Air National Guard in August of 2006. He completed Command and Control Battle Management Operations training in March of 2007 and has held several qualifications in the Command and Reporting Center. As a Weapons Director, Chief Roach has participated in many real world and training missions, including Red Flag, Virtual Flag, Northern Strike and several multi-national large force employment exercises. 

Chief Roach has deployed several times to the Middle East, supporting Operations INHERENT RESOLVE, SPARTAN SHIELD,  IRAQI FREEDOM, and ENDURING FREEDOM. He also mobilized to Washington D.C. supporting Operation NOBEL EAGEL, where he played a key role in executing air defense for the National Capital Region. Prior to his current assignment, he served as the Operations Superintendent at KINGPIN, the world’s largest Command and Reporting Center, where he led a multi-skilled, coalition force in providing critical support to CENTCOM. Prior to his current position, the Chief was the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 151st Operations Group, Roland R. Wright ANG Base, Utah.

Continuing his service beyond his military duties, Chief Roach works as a Project Manager supporting the Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile program. In this civilian capacity, he plays a critical role in the acquisition and construction of vital infrastructure across three missile wings.
